Development of a Model for Predicting the Volatilization Flux from Unsaturated Soil Contaminated by Volatile Chemical Substances

چکیده

Abstract This work developed a model for predicting the volatilization flux from unsaturated soil contaminated by volatile chemical substances (VCSs) such as mercury and benzene. The considers series of phenomena under condition multi-phase flow consisting non-aqueous phase liquid, water, gases together with permeation rainfall into surface soil, volatilization/condensation VCSs, adsorption/desorption VCSs. On this basis, clarified mechanism generation at ground surface. In addition, effects various transport in on magnitude seasonal changes due to variations weather factors level, temperature, air pressure were quantitatively evaluated. newly prediction can be utilized estimate dynamic real-environmental conditions.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Improved removal of Trinitrotoluene (TNT) from contaminated soil by inducing aerobic process: kinetic and chemical byproducts

This study describes the biological degradation of TNT by using induced aeration. Three plastic reactors were used. In each reactor 3 kg of soil were used. In order to increase the porosity of the soil, sawdust was added to soil. Textile wastewater treatment plant sludge was also added to soil. TNT at the concentrations of 1000 mg/kg of soil was added thereafter. Rhamnolipid biosurfactant at th...
